The Africa Evangelistic Band believes:

  1. In the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original form, as fully inspired by God and accepted as the highest authority and final authority for faith and life.
  2. In one God, eternally made up of three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. That Jesus Christ, Son of God, begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, is true God and true man.
  4. That God created man in His own image, that man sinned and thereby brought the punishment of death, physically and spiritually, upon himself, and that all people inherited sinful nature which essentially causes sin and transgressions and also includes a personal conscience.
  5. That the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, that He is a substitute sacrifice according to Scripture and that all who believe in Him are freely and by grace justified by His shed blood.
  6. In the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus, His ascension and His presence in heaven as our present High Priest and Advocate.
  7. In the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  8. That all who accept the Lord Jesus in faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God who are destined to be conformed to the image of His Son.
  9. That the true church is the whole community of those redeemed by Jesus Christ and resurrected by the Holy Spirit, or (in one church made up of all true believers worldwide, those rescued by Jesus Christ and resurrected by the Holy Spirit. )
  10. That full salvation is the work of God that follows regeneration, whereby believers are set free from indwelling sin and depravity and brought into a state of complete devotion to God and the holy obedience of perfect love. It is brought about by the fulfilment of the Holy Spirit and includes in one experience the purification of the heart of sin and the enduring presence of the Holy Spirit, which affirms the believer for life and service.
  11. Full Salvation is provided by the blood of Jesus, instantaneously brought about by faith, preceded by complete devotion, and to this work and state of grace the Holy Spirit gives testimony. There is a clear distinction between a pure heart and an adult character. A pure heart is gained through a definite experience while a mature character is acquired as a result of growth in the grace and knowledge of God. Full salvation includes the impulse to grow spiritually. However, this impulse must be consciously and carefully cared for in order to develop a Christ-like character and personality.
  12. In the bodily resurrection of both the righteous and the unjust, the eternal bliss of the redeemed and the eternal damnation and punishment of those who rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.
